Bonnet Bay SC originated in the early 1980s. A working group was formed 1983 to establish a sporting club in Bonnet Bay. This club initially catered to various sports, including baseball, softball, cricket, basketball and soccer.
By 1984 a club had been established under the name Bonnet Bay Summer Sports Club.
A temporary playing field was constructed in 1983 in the far North East of Burnum Burnum Reserve, between Washington Drive and Harrison Avenue, Bonnet Bay. The field was played on until 1992, when the first full baseball field was constructed (now Diamond 1). This field consisted of the main senior diamond and two smaller diamonds to allow junior baseball to be played. In 1994 construction of the second field began (Diamond 2). The clubhouse construction also began. Several years later, a work shed was added to the side of the clubhouse to house all the club's equipment.
